China’s Western Pacific Ambitions Shattered: Australia’s First Test of the Standard Missile-6

Показать описание
In early August, Australia’s Hobart-class destroyer successfully launched an SM-6 during the "Pacific Dragon 2024" exercise, demonstrating its ability to intercept hypersonic missiles and other high-speed aerial targets. These Australian destroyers, equipped with the U.S. Aegis combat system can seamlessly cooperate with U.S. forces, particularly excelling in joint operations with U.S. carrier strike groups. In any potential future conflict, the Australian Navy, armed with advanced weapons such as the SM-2 and SM-6, could provide strong support to the U.S. military, thereby weakening China's strategic advantage in the Western Pacific to an extent.

I don't know how true all the military details are, but just going by the general quality of things "made in china" and their work ethic makes me doubt the Chinese military can do much.

It is a cultural thing. The USA always gives specs that are below the products capability, China and Russia tend to overstate the specs on their products and seldom prove to even meet those specs when tested or in use. China not only fail to meet advertised specs but are also lacking quality and reliability in their products. Pretty on the outside though

The sm -6 is a major thorn in chinas side. With its long range and accuracy it really messes with chinas area denial

"Chinese military claims..." I rest my case.

The Chinese's problem is not that they exaggerate the capabilities of their weapons so much. The problem for the Chinese is that they assume that the Americans do the same.

Sounds like China's excessive claims may have the unintended effect of propelling US DOD R&D.

In short:
-China: Our missile can hit a US Carrier. In reality it can only hit a tugboat.
-US: Our missile can do Mach 3. In reality it can do Mach 6 and hit Ships, Ground and other Missiles.

😂 Forgive my bluntness and unquestionable honesty, but who in their right mind believes a single claim that the CCP makes, I mean, come on, hahahahahaha.

Not to mention the US Dig Fighting performance by years of actual combat experience compared to China's no experience in combat, ever.

In an intense naval war in the Western Pacific involving the PLAAN versus US and allies, I might predict that the PLAAN sailors will refuse to sail their ships after a period of only a few weeks where significant number of PLAAN ships and crews are lost. Effectively, this will be mutiny against the CCP and it's leadership.

In World War 1, a similar naval mutiny occurred between the Kaiser's navy and the German government (by then being run by a Generalissamo pair; Hindenberg and Ludendorff). This was in response to a suicidal order to attack the British High Sea Fleet without returning.

The specs for the U.S. equipment is greatly under reported. China would need decades to catch up to what our Navy is at right now. By that time, we would still be decades ahead of them. Quality, training, testing, experience, logistics, as well as utilizing everything at once our entire military works as one. The pla navy would go from one of the largest to one of the smallest in a very short time.

I speculate tht all ballistics and guns that were "Made in China" were cheap, cut corners and it won't last.

ALL tht were made in U.S.A along with Aussie were the real McCoys. Those were the products we sent to Ukraine, a reason they're occupying Russia.

Chinese little pinks talking about how their ripoff toys "surpass the US equivalents" is beyond hilarious. 😂 Keep it up pinks.
