The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in Mexico near San Juanito, Bocoyna, Chihuahua. The earthquake hit in the morning on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, at 7:43 am local time at a shallow depth of 10 km.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at a magnitude of 4.7. And
Servicio Sismológico Nacional (SSN) listed the quake at magnitude 5.1.
In Sacramento, located 3 km from the epicenter, and San Juanito, 13 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Creel, located 30 km from the epicenter, Los Alamos, 43 km away, Adolfo Lopez Mateos, 57 km away, La Junta, 57 km away, and Vicente Guerrero, 63 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include San Rafael, located 68 km from the epicenter, and Cuauhtémoc, 76 km away.
