The "creepy screen" is there on all Windows versions, even on PC. The English one says "It's now safe to turn off your computer." You need a computer with AT (not ATX) power supply in order to see it.

On the note of program compatibility, DOS programs talk directly to the hardware and the different DOS versions didnt have the same ABI (binary code wasn’t compatible, despite using the same CPU). Where Windows apps talk to Windows, which then talks to the hardware

The 9800 sounds like the height of 90's weeb aesthetic.

Hello! Can we chat via email? I got same machine (but in desktop version) and trying to start it. The problem is that I have no HDD and FDD seems broken. I think I can start it with gotek emulator, but I need msdos .fdi files and maybe HDD image...

What model of monitor do you use? Can you use it in BIOS, where Hsync is 24.8kHz?
