NEC PC-9821 As2 Part 1: Overview

Taking a look at my new (old) PC-9821 As2 computer from Japan. It has a couple issues which will be taken care of over the next couple videos I upload.

Also, there's DOS software you can use called SCAN31 that will force the machine to run in 31khz so you can use it on most CRT monitors you can find in the west. Run S24, and then S31. Some games don't work, but the vast majority I've tried work fine.

Hi Trevor, been watching your PC-9821 videos for some time and finally pulled the trigger on a PC-9821 AP/U2 sold as “junk” but it powers on and has the beep sound according to the description. The system is very clean so I’m hoping the interior is just as good. Could you share your list of capacitors? I believe the AS2 and AP2 are pretty similar if not the same. Thanks man!!
