I kinda wanna watch the anime like this. The whole show but it shows only the runs where he makes it to the next checkpoint, meaning subaru would never die but randomly out of nowhere he'd constantly look like he just witnessed something horrible

And the fact that everyone else sees him as a genius who has great timing and each of his plans works but in reality dude died multiple times and corrected his plans after experiencing failure multiple times even roswell thinks it's impossible for someone to have great timing so he thought that subaru has an ability to restart and he was right except the part where subaru can't do it manually he has to die to do it

Consider how it must be if you are around Subaru. Here is this... strange man. Clearly not from anywhere nearby given his mannerisms and dress. He always knows more about you than you've ever told him. He may even be strangely attached to you despite having only just met. He very obviously has some kind of strange power of divination, as you see every plan he puts together succeed against wild odds and things that should be impossible to predict. And yet you also frequently see him surprised or caught off guard. You never know if he acts in wisdom or ignorance. You don't know what he is after, or how he plans to get it. And yet you know, because you have seen it over and over and over again, that if you stick close to him, you are going to be safest.
