Hi, the reason for this is Macro mode, you can turn this off in settings. There’s no reason to return the phone for a small issue like that.

That’s normal! It jumps because it switches between the normal camera to ultra wide, because the ultra wide camera can focus down to 1 cm!

I haven’t had a single problem with my 15 pro max. Runs just as smooth as my s23 ultra and camera is nice also.

I thought the same but It only won’t autofocus on a screen . Like if you point the camera at the computer or iPad screen . Try it with something else . That’s what I did

I have an iPhone 15 pro max black titanium and i just got it like, 2 days ago! Im so happy. Well, im a kid and its the size of my hand but it didnt matter! Be grateful for what you have guys <3

It's because the main camera is not able to focus closely, especially on the 15 Pro. That's why it's switching to the ultrawide camera (which is cropped to match the FOV of the main camera)

Many people don’t know how to use the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera at all. To me, my iPhone 15 Pro Max actually focuses quite well. You just gave to tap to focus. The reason why objects appear blurred is because the sensor is larger. That’s why they implemented Macro Mode in videos now.

If you’re planning on getting the 15 series, I recommend on getting the 15 or 15 plus! It’d way better then the pro and pro max

I’m a huge apple fan, and I use all their products I recently got the 15 pro max but it was overheating the problem was overheating which could be solved by turning off background app refresh, and for the lens go to the camera and click lens correction and that should do, be your focus problem 😊
