Five Just Stop Oil protesters, including one of its co-founders, have been jailed for conspiring to organise protests that blocked the M25 motorway.

Roger Hallam, 58, Daniel Shaw, 38, Louise Lancaster, 58, Lucia Whittaker De Abreu, 35, and Cressida Gethin, 22, agreed to cause disruption to traffic by having protesters climb onto gantries over the motorway for four successive days in November 2022.

Prosecutor said cost was £765000 to the public - Thats mental, more like 75 million - 510000 driver hours sited at £15 an hour is £765000 alone. What about missed flights, missed appointments, sackings for being late (again), missed business deals, trucks with food etc that were turned away from supermarkets for missed slots, plus of course - ironically, all that wasted fuel as people sat for hours in queues.
