Cheetahs are the only wild cat that I'm not 100% afraid of.

Cheetahs are also VERY very nervous and anxious critters. Thats why many Zoos and wildlife stations pair them with dogs. Those dogs are ACTUALLY their support animals and help them be less antsy and stressed out.

When i was working in africa a friend of mine said "hyenas are cat like dog things and cheetahs are dog like cat things" and that will always stick with me

I heard that cheetahs are less dangerous in the wild than they are in captivity or as a pet. If they’re familiar with humans and have no anxious feelings towards them, they’ll play rough which includes biting.

I remember hearing also part of the reason they’re endangered is just that their gamble didn’t really work out. They poured all their stats into speed, but animals in the savannas have various ways to out maneuver them, and they’re so weak that sometimes even if they do get a bite in it’s not enough to finish off the animal and they get away. Their hunting success rate is extremely low compared to other big cats in the same habitats. Most likely they’re a species that would have been on the way out even without human influence. They very might well become captivity-only animals eventually.

Nobody ever confused a leopard for a cheetah. They don't even look alike.

Very fun fact: Not a single human being has been killed by a cheetah. They are more chill than house cats.

Edit: Seems some cheetahs in captivity have killed someone.

People who confuse cheetahs to panthers need to get their eyes checked. The body shape is totally different!
