There was foreshadowing this would happen earlier. Ironically by calling police she'll push her son into a long jail sentence, he would have walked were it not for this. What I liked is the clip a moment later when Saul was holding the phone cord in his hands, I thought he might strangle her. Then he stepped away, not wanting to go there, accepting his fate.
