After i came out as gay to myself, accepting myself as gay, which was basically the same moment realizing that I am gay at age 13, I did not start dating immediately, because in the school environment this is basically too risky. But when I started dating other gay men on online gay dating platforms during my university years, it was such a bitter experience that after a few years I resigned.

I think this is the biggest disappointment that you will have in gay dating experience, because at one point all gay men will try online dating for gay men and will then bitterly find out that this theoretical best possibility fails in reality. At least for me that was the most bitter experience I have made in my life.
