Edelbrock LIVE Episode #10: Carbureted Intake Manifolds

"EPS" stands for Edelbrock Performer Series, Edelbrock's afb style carburetors. In the case of the 2701 Performer EPS manifold, it was designed to to maximize the characteristics of the EPS carburetor. The regular 2101 Performance has a dual carb flange that can take either a square flange carb or a Quadrajet spread bore, so it is a compromise between the two. The difference between the two is an increase of nine ftbs of torque for the 2701.

You don't lose low end torque due to longer runner length. You gain torque from longer runners. You lose torque from larger runner cross sections and increased volumes. Also the massive plenum volumes single planes have reduces low end torque and throttle response. Those things are all meant to increase power at high RPMs. It's a trade off because the air/fuel velocity is poor in the lower RPMs. But it's NOT the runner length killing torque. If you built a single quad tunnel ram with long runners that had a perfect cross sectional volume to maximize efficiency/velocity at 3000-3500 rpm on a 350, it would make massive low end torque. It would have to have a small plenum volume to match.

What about the Torquer II? That made my 351W scream and still streetable. I want one that has injector bungs.

I was watching PowerNation and they dyno a 408 cuin ford v8 and claimed they could only make 522 hp because your RPM dual plan intake was restricting hp. They installed a Trick Flow intake and was able to make 566 hp. Any comment.

You can easily get high horsepower and torque out of a SBC stroker using a Performer RPM AirGap.
Being that a stroker makes good torque anyway you could put a 1 inch spacer on the AirGap for a little extra top end power.

I have a 350 olds and i made it into a pro stock engine .. and i saw yr victor intake ... for a olds .. so if i was to get it?? How are the bolts will align with the heads and intake ?? Bolts ??? Will it link are or the cover up the middel port on the heads ???

Umm Manifold is fine .but how about the Combonation between Cam and intake Manifold !!
total performance of a motor is dictated between the marrage between the Two .

Hi I have a question
I am running a 351c 4v heads and I'm wanting to purchase a RPM air gap ed7564 but noticed the ports are a lot smaller than the 4v head ports.
My question is are they ok to use on 4v or are they just suited to 2v heads and can they be port matched.

hi How about making a street d/p and s/p for 400sbc --440 sbc . All 1206 gasket . None of your sbc manifolds are tested on 400sbc . Oh yea u could call it RpmAir Gap 2.0 and Vic jnr 2.0 .
