I upgraded memory to 32GB ram (2x16gb)
Max 16 gb stated in hp site is tested configuration

I think the part about the RAM is wrong because mine game with 16GB and it is dual channel 2x8 and I'm also pretty sure it's upgradeable to 32GB, not restricted to 16GB.

Buy 16.1 inch version, it's upgradable and has better battery backup.

It doesn't support advanced optimus, so there is no need for a MUX switch.

I have 12 gen i5 hp victus. Here is the review
- Audio quality. Even with dolby audio subscription. The quality is just ok.
- Display is a little poor. For video editors, . less colors. 250nits brightness is ok. If you are switching from thinkpad or any other laptop you would feel the display is not great. Otherwise, it would be okay for most.
- Fan has a good noise. If you are using premiere pro. On normal usage you won't feel any noise. Its a good thing.
- Keyboard has sound. It depend from person to person. For typing the keys are okay. If bigger hand then, there might be some problem.
- Keyboard light is high. a bit annoying when you want to use them at night.
- Touch pad is ok. Not BAD at all.
- 52 whr battery is poor.
- There is no screen whobble.
- I liked the build. Its okay.
- Also has 1 type C slot.
- 140 whr charger.
- 2 usb A

after using thinkpad t570 side by side. Things i didn't like.
- Audio quality is poor.
- Display could have been better.

- Make sure to turn off bitlocker encryption. after buying one. Otherwise, after firmware update you might lose your data. If you don't have encryption key. or bitlocker crashes.

Another thing i noted the core i7 varient had SAmsung SSD while i5 has SK hynix SSD.

8 GB / 8 GB slots RAMS.

i GOT IT FOR $550.00 us SO FOR that price it's a steal, I rather have gotten a 3060 RTX laptop though, since money isn't a huge problem, but i also don't game too newly either I play a lot of GTA 5 and older games

I've bought last year i5 12450h 3050 variant, it really works very smooth, I especially bought for coding and video editing, after using it almost 11 months literally it's the best laptop because I've tested Data engineering using Pyspark, Machine Learning, Web development workload like React, Flask etc in this machine ....and premiere pro illustrator 3d modelling, photoshop everything i tested it's smoothly worked
But i didn't play game here,

But you are true storage is a bit less 512gb will mostly occupy within 2 years that's why pendrive and external drive required

Why is this one of if not the only video here that says this is a crap computer. Every video I’ve watched in the last 4-6 days have said this is one of the best budget and entry gaming laptops out there.

Love how you all say this is a budget laptop when it costs $1000 to $3000

I get a little scared by the temperature issue, I have an HP Victus, GTX 1650, 12th gen. But in some games it heats up a lot: like Genshin Impact and Valorant for being very heavy, reaching 80°C, 94°C, 99°C, is anyone who plays these games having this kind of temperature? I don't know if this is very worrying for this particular notebook.

is it okay to let the Power Adapter stay plugged in even if it's 100% already?? because mine drains too fast.

While I agree with a bit of this video, there is some wrong information in here.16gb is the max HP ships it with.. but the processor and chipset can support up to 64GB (I sit here on my 2022 HP victus, i5-12500h with rtx3050 running 64gb right now, typing on it.. ). That said, the ram thing is the only actually wrong thing I'm seeing here.

I have the larger battery, and I do see 6 hours watching youtube videos on it. I also have the dgpu configured to only run on certain applications (games)... and run basic usage off the igpu. It makes a HUGE difference in battery life.

Lack of mux switch - real budget move there. Also, if you use a usb C to DP cable, its going through the intel video as well, but the hdmi is tied directly to the nvidia card...

Fan noise - very accurate, and it's high pitched. That said, running passmark I score higher than a 13500h in cpumark and stp scores... thanks to that loud cooling.

The 512gb nvme was sluggish on writes. Mine shipped with a kioxia stick, and it wasn't impressing me. I replaced it with a 1TB WD sn850x and see right at 6Gb/s reads and writes on this laptop in crystaldiskmark.

Screen wobble - yes, it's there. It's also something I don't particularly notice when I'm just casually using it. Maybe if I was going insane with my mouse I might see some movement... but I dont play games that requires fast twitching, so it's something that will have various effects depending on how you use the laptop.

Other annoying cost cutting measures they took... no TB support on the USB port. It's only a 150 Watt power brick, but no USB PD (USB PD 3.1 came out in 2021, with support up to 240 Watts over usb C... this 150 is well within the capabilities of the tech that was present at the time of introduction).

As for color accuracy.. who is actually doing color sensitive work on a tiny 15.6" screen? Every graphics designer I know is running at least a 27" external monitor for this type work.
