Does anyone have a link to the full conversation with Ligon? I think it *_might_* be useful to reach out to the platform he was on, and see if they’d have Apologia or CrossPolitic on to bring light to the other side of the issue. It sounds as if the interviewer was operating out of ignorance as well.

This is so disheartening about L. Duncan. I’ve been doing Wednesday Bible broadcasts going through his book, “Proclaiming a Cross-Centered Theology!” The work is wonderful but how can he fight for such a strong biblical worldview and abandon common sense during the pandemic?

I don't know the context. I'm only going off what they described in the video. But based on what I've learned about the particular way ahlzheimers shows up in very intelligent and educated people, it sounds like Ligon might have it. I have a family member who recently got diagnosed and he is a very theologically intellectual guy and it seemed like the dementia came out of nowhere but we've been told that when people are very intelligent then it's often not seen at first because their brains can figure out ways of coping much longer than most. But they will start slipping on things you'd expect them to know. It happened to my relative but people thought "oh he's just getting older" but now looking back is like "oh, that was the ahlzheimers". Another sign is the brain having more trouble after sunset. Like, sun goes down and brain shuts down. So if that is a struggle for BigLig then he really might have this.

I don't think we should label different approaches other than our own as dualistic. Reformed theology's strength is in providing helpful distinctives, which are essential to understanding the Bible. Law/Gospel distinction, Old Covenant/New Covenant, Covenant of Works/Covenant of Grace, Justification/Sanctification, Kingdom of God/Kingdom of Man, Special Revelation/Natural Revelation, Special Grace/Common Grace, Church Militant/Church Triumphant, Archetypal/Ectypal, etc...

No, we do not need to validate Ligon "true believer" status. A true believer repents, away from lies, towards truth. Would love to see Ligon confirm his calling and election... and any others that have strayed, stumbled.. twisted the word of God.

You guys do not understand the problem. The problem is not secular atheist governments, and it's not Christian nationalist governments. The problem IS government. Even King David, a man after God's own heart could not be trusted to rule over others.

The test of your orthodoxy is not mere profession but practice. People work and act out of what they actually believe, proving themselves to be liars or sincere. Ligon has not proven sincerity, needs to be rebuked and counted as an unbeliever unless he repents.
