ABOUT JONNIE W.
Once in a generation, someone comes along with the power and eloquence to inspire us all. Jonnie W will entertain us while we wait for that person. Entering the comedy scene with nothing more than a guitar and his razor-sharp wit, he has gone on to entertain audiences nationwide. When not performing at solo events, Jonnie joins fellow funny man Tim Hawkins on his "Rockshow Comedy Tour", delivering the funny at sold out shows coast to coast.

Jonnie blends musical chops, mad vocals, and off-beat standup for a hilariously unique comedy experience. His first DVD, "Angry Sandwich" was a huge success and his follow-up, "Live From Franklin Theatre" is a must have for all comedy fans!

My dad is a jazz guitarist and he jazzes up old hymns. They're pretty great.

Heard current worship music described as 7-11 music. The same 7 phrases repeated 11 times. Close to accurate most of the time

Sad that a number of people have commented so negatively. All for positive criticism but shouldn’t we be encouraging those willing to stand up and lead worship? We need to support our worship leaders and pray for them to be lead by God to the right songs/hymns for our own local body of Christian’s (that doesn’t mean complaining about a song because we don’t like it personally). It’s important to point out if a song is too hard to sing or the words don’t make sense but it’s also important to listen to the leaders response as that may change your perception.

Since when did worship become a concert? The songs are largely unsingable by a congregation, I am in my sixties, and so often hear about Christian’s my age leaving their church because they feel so excluded, of course we want young people to come to church, but perhaps not to dominate the style of worship.

There was a guitarist at my old church that liked to throw in whammy bar, metal solos. I had to laugh, he was making joyful noise- to him lol. I’m an old rocker too but was not super digging it, but the poor old ladies lol, oh wait… that’s me now 😂And God bless him, he wasn’t skilled vocally, I always had to pray through it

Worship music today is the best ever.
The Holy Spirit loves it.
The people who complain about it don't do good works so the Holy Spirit isn't hanging around them much. 😝

That's one thing good about hymnbooks. You have the same words and music. I've heard wrong words from worship leaders. If Mark Lowry doesn't keep Bill Gaither humble, how some churches do his songs will.

Who else thinks there should be room for both the old and new songs? Being from Louisiana, I find that particular song creepy. We've seen what hurricanes can do firsthand. The writer of the song tweeted me back that he had experienced one.

It really has nothing to do with music that people don't know the words to. It's whether or not it is genuine and anointed. You can't minister to others if you are just copying the words of something that the Holy Ghost birthed, but yet it was not through you or that you haven't been given revelation about. I've been to churches where they both sang the same song, but the one that sang the song, it didn't minister, but the other place, when they lifted up their voices, because they knew the Holy Ghost and what it truly was that they were doing. I wound up liking the song, whereas with the other church that was mouthing the words because, "well, it's what we are supposed to do"..

There already is skat worship. Ever heard of the group the Insiderz from the 90’s?

Un fortunately the worship leaders are often introducing new songs that no-one knows the words to. No one even wants to know the words. We are believers there to worship. Why must you grieve the Holy Spirit trying to make a choir out of us. It is counter- productive. It saddens me to see the spirit being suppressed in this way. I pray God will reveal this.
