Blue Sea Systems MIDI or AMI Safety Fuse Blocks

Hmm.?.. I'm wondering can i place that inside my auxiliary power unit's diesel engine compartment connecting it to the engine's alternator out put terminal to replace the 50 or 60 amp maxi fuse inline holder that melted on me last holiday weekend leaving me with no Air Conditioning or batteries staying charged. Does any one know? I'm definitely going to be looking into this.
