Hot take: the emptyness of the end should be there after end update.

Personally I like end being a desolate place, but the current end is soo desolate that it needs some medium update like adding new structures, and something of a structure that is like a last resort to survive end like fallout vaults .

Some biomes like floating canions which like the end version of shattered Savannah plateau, and I personally would like to have farlands in end with mysterious mobs lurking.

But the desolation of the place shall be preserved.

You forgot literally the biggest thing. The end has already been updated! In Minecraft dungeons there’s a nearly totally new end with new monsters, biomes, plants, trees, structures, and bosses!

Its Obviously super weird that they show stuff in the MCC event that isnt even in regular game: Green End Stone Bricks, New Obsidian Towers, Pink Crystal, Chorus fruit having an actual flower on top

I had a great idea recently for a new End mob. Basically a variant of the Shulker. But when the bullet hits you, it has a 50% chance to spawn a "naked" end gateway (without end stone) that instantany teleports you x amount of blocks away, with levitation of course. (Naked end gateway remains). Then if you kill it, the drop is an "ender shulker shell" that you can use to make a Shulker box that acts like an ender chest. But if you dye it, it will remember the inventory for that specific shulker box, and can have as many different ender shulkers as different colors with unique inventories. (16 color dyes, plus undyed). And have the functionality that you can pull and add items to it using a hopper/dropper/hopper minecart. So you can transfer items across dimensions without having to use portals.
Maybe give it a look like an ender pearl or eye of ender mixed with Shulker. (I really wanna try to make this)

One thing noone is talking about is that the Minecraft Movie apparently has a new type of Dragon (Enderdragon?) called The Malgosha, who could be a new final boss in the end

If they made an update that not only revamped the end, but added a bunch of early game items, that would be such a fire update. The name would be so easy to come up with too, just call it the "beginning & end update"

One thing I gotta mention

In 1.21, we got new cave sounds. The last one is the sound of an end portal opening. Pretty interesting huh?

If they add end biomes, I really hope they'll affect the main island as well. You'd get a different experience fighting the Ender Dragon each time based on the biome.

i would love an end update to still have the *feeling* of being desolate, but still be a complete overhaul. I wouldn't want it to be like the nether update in that they made the nether fully survivable by adding food, wood, etc. Cuz my view of the end is that it's a place that *you're not supposed to be.* Kind of like Xen from half-life. Super weird alien world that gives you the feeling that you shouldn't be there. New biomes, mobs, a few structures, etc. can ALL be added while still keeping that *desolate* feeling imo. It's all about how it's done / handled.

I think adding crystals to the end would be cool. Like glowing jagged spikes, the lore behind them would be that these crystals corrupted the ancient builders, turning them to endermen. And this idea is based of someone else's, but a giant ender mite boss would be sweet, like the eater of worlds from terraria.
