Great video!! Nick is a beast and can’t wait to see him play college ball and hopefully on Sundays. His work ethic stands out to me and that is the glue that makes everything work. Without the work ethic and tapping into his natural training personality then everything falls apart. That to me is what separates a really good coach to an average one. You’re able to bring out the best in the people/athletes you coach, train, etc. You’re able to do that my man. Great job to you!

If i understood correctly you said he started to chase his dream at sixth grade, meaning like 12 year old? If I'm in 2 years ballpark, I would also give great compliments to you as a coach that you took him under the wing even if he was not that gifted to begin with. I really believe that if you this kind of person that you just want to try your best and love doing some sports or whatnot, that even if you start "late" that you are still given a proper chance to train and show what you are capable of. Where I live, I think there is a big problem that if you haven't started in a sport under 10 years old, you don't have a chance to join in later even if you are highly motivated unless you are already really gifted to begin with. And in last 20 years it has been a steady decline across multiple international sports results. Number 1 factor is the motivation and love of what you are doing.

Great Stuff, Dane! I once had a teacher who told me, "Talent alone is INSUFFICIENT, for true success you need OVERWHELMING determination", and that is what stops most from becoming GREAT (rater than just good / OK). Of course, it's better if that determination comes from within - which it clearly does in Nick's case (did I ever meet him?), but having a great Coach who understands the "individual", as well as having a detailed program certainly makes a BIG difference as well! And it seems like all the GS athletes have that in SPADES! So congrats to you, GS and Nick for your achievements! I know I'm dating myself but I would have LOVED to see Nick operate in a Joe Paterno "wish-bone" or "I-back" offensive unit!

Hey loving your videos been watching and listen for last 3 days it’s great stuff really helping me out with what I lacked in mental confidence. I’m a 33 father of two who loves sports have got back into rugby union I’m a front rower but wanna become a flanker or lock, American football I love you laying FB or LB and I enjoy Olympic weightlifting, from your videos I’ve learnt that I can train for 3 of these around the same time. My question is since doing more football and working my way back to Olympic weightlifting how should I focus my training program and nutrition. Juddy out
