Great Barrier Reef: Could cloud brightening slow impact of coral bleaching?

Australia's Great Barrier Reef is under threat as warming summer temperatures threaten mass bleaching events, a reaction to excessive heat which weakens or even destroys the coral.

Sarah Clarke has been to Queensland to hear from a team of scientists, who are trialling ways to buy more time for the world's biggest coral reef system.

And then the cloud salt drops down on the vegetation on the land and kills the land based vegetation which then stops the fish food growing and getting washed back in to feed the fish. Salt is a natural defoliant.

why not use seaweed farms? it shades the ocean and creates food and fertilizer

Messing with the weather is not wise, we don’t know what the long term effects will be, we’ve made our bed, , we can lie in it.. if we want to slow global warming then the ministers in control of each and every country need to do and not just speak, this is like putting a band aid on a gaping wound
