I know this video is old. Just wanted to thank you for your advice. My wife and I are deeply studying confessional Lutheranism. I got Chemnitz's Enchiridion, Loci Theologici set, and am considering some of the Gerhard Theological Commonplaces that are on sale at CPH for their Black Friday sale.

Thoughts on David L. Yeago? I did Systematic Theology at Wycliffe College a while back and we used Yeago's (unpublished) 2-volume Systematic as our textbook.

For God So Loved the World is a $50 book - Northwestern Publishing House...too bad it is so expensive.

Brother Cooper all your videos are much appreciated. Question - do you have or will you do more videos on the atonement? I've heard folks say that the atonement couldn't be substitutionary because that makes God a divine child abuser. I point them to Isaiah 53 and Romans 3 but to no avail

I’m not a big fan of systematizing theology. The Bible is not a systematic book, it’s a story which as you read it unfolds. Man is in the business of making it into his own creation to fit his reason. When you start in Genesis 1 God speaks to us as our maker and Savior God who loves us and wants us to be with him, that’s why he wrote the scriptures as history in order for us to watch Him go to work at redeeming us. He didn’t want to lose us to Satan.
