I'm the executor of my mother's estate, and my biggest mistake was not immediately hiring the law firm who drafted her will, who happens to be highly qualified. If you do not understand probate, or have the knowledge to navigate the court system, get a qualified attorney to help you. Basically, they're handling all of the paperwork behind the scenes while I go about with my rather busy daily work routine. We meet when needed, I sign whatever documents are necessary, and we move on to the next phase. Is there a price to pay for all this? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Again, absolutely.

No you don't need all those Death Certificates, I got 15 at $23 each and almost every agency accepted emailed copies.

I've just been informed that I'm the beneficiary of an estate.
It's in Pennsylvania.
The executor is holding it for me but I don't know how long it's been held.
Do you have a checklist that I can follow.

What can I do here in NY upstate? My partner died on the 13, and his will was not ever filled with the county court. It was signed back in 2013 and he had two witnesses to it yet not notarized. We were going to be married yet he ended up in the hospital ER on Feb. 27th dead on the 13th of this month. He never filed any taxes. He never worked. He was 71 when he passed.

I currently have a Revocable Trust established and I am the trustee. I have named executors to handle my estate and I would like to leave appropriate information at this time which would make things easier upon my demise or incapacity. Would you know of any information checklists that a person could obtain to help in this matter. I have currently provided my bank, brokerage account, accountant/attorney's name etc. but am just trying to check as many of the boxes as possible since I know how difficult can be without pertinent information is provided

My Dad has NO property & is in a nursing home. His only money is with an Investment firm & all of the money has beneficiaries listed. Does his estate still need to go to Probate?

Bill Eaves I have an important question. I live in CA. Preparing my Will. I have by CA law a small, a very small estate. I only gross $1115.00 a month in SSA Benifits, permanent disability, so I'm low income. I own nothing except what little is left in my bank account, my personal proPerty like furniture, nicnacks, appliances, clothing, stuff like that. I do not own a car or any property. I have an executor and Benificary, same person. I'm so confused as to what responsibilities and things to be done and in what order like 1. 2. 3. 4. Is there any way you can help me? Everyone involved can agree on a executor to handle the will, accounts, real estate, ect. As has been done in my family. Has to b someone trustworthy

How is a funeral home going to have original copies

My attorney has not informed 3 wekks and Im the widow and exexutive. No informtion or any advise Im so upset because I know nothing.

I have no family or anyone that I could trust. Are there honest people who could be a POA for my Trust as I will donate my fortune to Animal causes when I pass?
Could I just name the charity straight up as my inheritor without having to deal with a third party to administer the transaction?
