I like that canonically, at least for Hajime, the time he spends doing hangman's gambit is real. Hiyoko comments on it during one of the trials, something along the lines of "Huh? You were taking so long to come up with _that?_ "
So I'm just imagining in the final trial, while everyone's freaking out about their futures, Hajime's just concentrating _real_ hard for a minute before panicking again
