I am Russian and I live in Russia. My salary is 700 dollars. someone will say that this is not enough. Maybe. I built myself a house of 80 square meters for 20 thousand dollars near the city. I have an inexpensive car to drive to work, but there is also a bus to the city (15 km). The bus costs 60 cents. I pay 6 cents per kilowatt for electricity. I had free heart surgery 5 years ago. Russia may not be the best country to live in, but I think it's not the worst in the world. And it's not that bad for me.

I am originally from Poland and live now in Switzerland. There are many similiar blocks in Poland and if I ever wanted to buy a property there I would buy similiar but with 2 rooms. I very much liked the place. The location is perfect for the professional, I have no car so this is perfect. The separate kitchen is the big plus. The kitchen is functional and all that is needed. The bathroom is small but has all, but I will get a curtain for the bathroom. The room with a sleeping alcove is really nice, bright and functional. This is a small, yet perfectly functional unit. The location is perfect and I can live there.

In Sweden we also say 1 room appartement. We also say 1 room and kitchen. I also have exactly the same IKEA thing. I actually like the appartement. When we live in better times again I think I want to live in Moscow for a year. I think the Russian people are great.

I too live in Russia. Live in Krasnagorsk, Moscow. English and my wife is Russian.
I always find it amazing that people in the biggest country in the world live in such small apartments. 42 Square metres seems the norm. Great video Russell because its always very interesting to see what is available at various prices.
It's odd too how people share apartments 3 people sharing 1 apartment. My son who is at University in Moscow is doing this now.
