Actually most 2 stroke 4 cylinders are cross plane. Its the smoothest layout for a 2 stroke

There's one more that I know of - the Yamaha VMAX-4 snowmobile. I'm no expert but atleast some of them were built with a cross-plane crankshaft. Being a 4 cylinder 2 stroke, with that crank, they scream like an F1 car!

I thought Yamaha MotoGP has been using crossplane since 2004? Since Rossi said the "screamer" flat-plane was hard to handle, Yamaha opted for the "big bang" cross-plane instead...

The video clip from the Fath-Kuhn URS running seemed like someone edited the footage and put a Nascar car's engine sound over the clip of the motorcycle running. It must have given goosebumps to the audience during the sessions, specially the BMW's employees haha

What the crossplane inline 4 really needs to shine is a true dual exhaust system. One pipe for 2 cylinders each.

THEN it sounds like a crossplane V8.
