There is evidence of flux around a charge. Is there evidence of a field around a charge? A field has a force with magnitude & direction. Field of proton does not act on neutron as it has no flux. It acts only on proton or electron both flux bearing particles. I think single charge has flux but not field around it. Field arises due to Interaction b/w fluxes.
