Mesmerising - Mandelbrot Fractal Zoom

preview_player
Показать описание
A journey deep into a swirling part of the Mandelbrot. Lots of branches containing small spirals. I've taken the opportunity to explore some Misiurewicz points (branch points). You will notice that at these points no new features develop, they are self similar as far as you go down. It's a feature you may not have noticed in many videos because they are usually avoided. Don't worry I don't dwell on any one point too long.

Be sure to watch at a high resolution. (click the setting 'gear' at the bottom right to set it)

Thank to "Evert Z" for allowing me to use some music from his EP "Driven by Daylight". If you'd like to listen to some great instrumental guitar, be sure to check out his EP on YouTube or Spotify.

Software: Kalles Fraktaler. Adobe Premiere Pro.

Permission to use: I have decided to allow others to use this video. You may use this video (not the audio) in your own projects, all I ask is that you include link back to this video in the description. (or just credit this channel if using the video offline). The audio was not created by me, you should contact the owner on the links above if you have any enquiries.

The thing that I love about this render, is that it dives down into the very fine detail bordering right on the edge of the small interior mandelbrot set. I've always wondered about the fine structure of the concentric rings surrounding those. Great job!

This is simply one of the most beautiful things one can look at while on acid. I love the music and every time I get sucked into this wonderful vortex I loose a bit of my sanity over how beautiful math can be and also is as we can see here quite wonderfully

It's so interesting that different regions have certain shapes that are the "fingerprint" of that region, and they don't appear in other regions. And these sometimes wildly disparate fingerprint patterns are the result of the same mathematical formula.

Thank you for this. I used to watch this sort of stuff when I was young and taking psychedelics, and it blew my mind, but now, as a sober person, I am wonderstruck all over again. Math really is the fabric of the universe, and I have no idea how any of this works because I stopped pursuing math after high school, but this actually inspires me to want to learn more. This is truly awe inspiring work you've created here, and I love the music choice as well. Thanks so much for your creation!

If you stare at it for too long without blinking, you will see everything shrink when you do blink :)

There’s something so satisfying when you see the Mandelbrot shape repeating.

If you watch this video for a few minutes then pause the video, you can witness the illusion of the pattern actually contracting instead of expanding! Kinda cool after effect!

Dude! One of the best! I was seeing it changes shape more than other ones and I was thinking it must be the color choices, but then I read your intro.... idk enough about it(actually love to see one made, do a 'making of' vid!) but I think i'm saying it right when I say, 'More usually avoided branch points!' lol.

How do you get the continuous colors, without the banding?
