Easy Motion Nitro City Review - $4.4k

Показать описание
The Easy Motion Nitro City is a speed pedelec capable of 28 mph top speeds in pedal assist mode, also has a twist throttle that can reach ~12 mph for moments when you need a break, extra large 504 watt hour battery pack with Samsung cells. Feature complete with plastic fenders, a chain guard, rear rack with reflectors and bungee cords as well as integrated LED lights powered off the main battery pack, great for commuting in any weather, day or night. Beautiful electronics integration including the downtube battery pack, compact hub motor (painted black to blend in) and thin display panel that's removable, all wires are integrated for cleanliness and protection. Only available in one frame size but the top tube is angled for easier stand-over, torque sensor is responsive when starting but delayed to cut out, throttle mode does not override assist, motor cable a bit vulnerable.

Thankyou for it EBR, Great report.
With regard to the Kick stand, please note that it´s easy to remove the spring, I did it, it´s just to take out two screws.
For me, was a pain the Kick stand; if you just "touch" the bike, and the bike falls. I took out the spring, and problem solved.
After 2K Km, I can say this bike is great for urban commuting, and touring. Hope BH improve more Ah on battery.

You're killing it with the amount of new content that you're creating! Good work mate!

Also, just for fun information, I've got a 250 watt Focus Aventura that has a limit of 25km/h pedal assist (that's the legal requirement where I live in Australia). Recently I had the bike shop increase the motor assist cut-off to 45km/h (28mph). They did this by changing the wheel size in the software from 700c (28 inch) to 20 inch. They also tweaked a few settings to make the gear shift/momentary motor cut off faster (shift assist), changed the climb assist to max, and tweaked a few other settings. Works great!

Just letting you know what can be done to the Impulse 2.0 from Focus/Kalkhoff as a bit of general information. Thanks mate - loving your videos!

Yeah I was behind a cyclist doing 35 mph on a Cannondale pushbike, totally safe on the road he was on!

The twist throttle conforms to recent EU legislation restricting 'twist and go' pedelecs. Essentially the throttle is intended for 'start up assistance' only in order to get you from 0 to 6kph (here in the UK) or other speeds across the rest of the EU.

Really makes me crazy that you can go buy a car with 600HP that'll do 170mph with no restrictions, but try to get a bicycle with a small electric motor that will do on the flat what most riders do downhill, and it's a legal minefield!!

Court,

Several countries in Europe (ex: Germany, Hungary, Sweden) have a dual classification for Mopeds/Scooters.

- Class 1: max speed 45 km/h, 28mph, license plate + insurance + helmet; that would be your uncle's Vespa/Kymco.
- Class 2: max speed 25 km/h, 16mph, no license plate but insurance + helmet.
None of them allows a passenger btw, even if the seat did.

"But wait that doesn't explain the 20 km/h, 12 mph limit on this Nitro ?!?!"

Well that's because only the Class 2 (max 25 km/h) is allowed on bicycle path and in some countries, there is a secondary speed limit of 20 km/h on those dedicated bike paths for the safety of users including children.

Welcome to the beauty of EU regulations ;-)

So BH probably implemented that lower 20 km/h to all its Nitro units to simplify administrative registration across EU countries (as in "it's factory-capped to 20 km/h"), not to mention production and inventory management.

Great review! I would just add that NO bicycle should be left outside! :) time: 18:45

I like your reviews but you make me want to buy all the bikes. Can you say more bad things about these and do more comparison videos? :) Thanks for all these detailed vids.

I want to invent a dual-light pool noodle for cyclists, which has its batteries and electronics all tucked into the 'hole', and blinks or shines from inside, where the lights stay dry. Would be even more visible than the pool noodles being used for bike lane protection purposes.

What an unusual bike. 28 MPH top speed, with a throttle, but rim brakes?

How is this bike doing speed-wise compared to BH Easy Motion Nitro Race 2015? Would this bike have a better top speed?

i got my front wheel hub motor on, but when i tested it, the front wheel where the hub motor is pulled itself off the forks from the power of 1000w, any idea why, no matter how tight i have it.
