WOW! Daisy Ridley Attacks Star Wars Critics – Blames Toxic Men

Daisy Ridley recently addressed criticism of her Star Wars character, Rey, suggesting much of the backlash was due to sexism. In this video, I break down why Ridley might be missing the point. It's not about gender—it's about poor storytelling and inconsistent character development. We’ll also discuss how characters like Princess Leia and Ahsoka were embraced by fans, and why Rey didn't have the same impact.

Even with all that money, talent, and years worth of expanded star wars material and they couldn't even tell a cohesive story

She need to blame the writers who don't know how to write good female characters

I thought Daisy Ridley's Rey was one of the few bright spots in the Sequels. Ridley needs to blame Disney and not Star Wars fans.

Yes men are the problem, they are not longer going to see the crappy Star wars movies and shows

She can blame the people who poorly wrote and didn't properly flesh out her character starting from The Force Awakens.

I liked her at first. Scavenging through junkyards was a pleasure of mine.
But pulling a spacecraft out of the sky with the force and no training was too much.
I couldn't take the character seriously after that.

Sort of miss the point, if you don't agree, you're wrong, if you're wrong, you're toxic, if you're toxic, you must be canceled. In their mind, any dissent is heresy to be shouted down. They can no more accept criticism then I can solo Everest in full plate armor banging two coconuts together.

What does she expect bad writing bad acting mediocre special effects. She can blame anyone she wants but she didn't do anything to help the movie either with her arrogant attitude.

Good video for a fledgling channel, but I feel you might have got sucked into one of those viral things that gets blown out of proportion.
The question being asked of Daisy was "The way that some fans received Rey was very *violent* . Did you ever have that feeling?" So something of a leading question. I think the interviewer was dutch or something and apparently he just picked the wrong word. I can understand why she thought the question was specifically about the more toxic fans.

Her egotistical view is the problem. A bit thin skined.

Funny she didn't blame the writers. Rey is one of the worst written characters in recent pop culture, the worst in a major IP. Which is a shame because they already had the blueprint for several well written female characters, most notably Mara Jade.

But that's not 'KK's ideal female' so we got trash Rey instead. At this point, no one cares about Star Wars except the shills being paid (or compensated with free stuff). They need to shutter the IP for a decade and try again without the 'activists'.

If her logic is true, then that must mean virtually all female fans love her character, but Im gonna guess they arent huge fans either. It's cool, daisey, you dont need to defend a boring, cardboard character you didnt write.

Dear Daisey Ridley,
I can tell you honestly, not liking Rey had nothing to do with her being female. They could have made that character male, and he would suck equally as bad. Your acting is not the issue, and neither is your gender. The character was just horribly written. By people who did not understand the lore, or care to follow it if they did understand. Rey being able to do everything with no training was not the way to go. Tell me, when did her character ever see a Jedi mind trick done; to know it was even possible?
Thank You,
Real Fan
Please pass on.
