I was confused for a sec until I realized this is 1.13

This was what I was asking you about. If they were non-source flowing down next to solid block, it's expected. Same reason why you use solid blocks in guardian farms to get them to fall down faster. I find the current (1.12+) behavior more useful, because you can make mob elevators with water without having to fill every single spot with source (like in my 16v iron farm)

that behavior should stay. Because otherwise new item elevators would require a water source on every single block and can't be a stream from high above, where you want it.

This is intended! I haven't watched it yet but it is.

7 people don't understand Minecraft. For real I don't understand disliking quick informative videos like this. What could be better!? Do they not like the bug? Ffs

Love your videos :3

There's this bug where all the natural spawning snow does not change the texture of the grass under it.

This is intended. As a player, you go faster up when no solid block is next to the flowing water you are swimming in.

Whether an item floats upwards in downwards flowing fluid depends on the relative densities, viscosity and velocity of the water. If you had a rock in a waterfall, sure, that's going down, but polystyrene in a convection current, not so much. If in source blocks the items float upwards faster than 1.39m/s, which is the speed that flowing water moves other entities, I'd say items should be able to float upwards unless there were some other factor, such as friction against other blocks, impeding motion.

Thank you for taking the time to do these. While the bug seems trivial, it is *still* a bug, and it may have an impact on the creation of "normal" item elevators (using water). The only thing I would suggest as an addition to this video is showing how if a player makes a mistake when using *intended* item elevator mechanics, this could have *unintended* consequences until the player messes with it enough to "fix" the problem. And perhaps there is a wrinkle in this bug within the code to show something that will have noticeable consequences that escalate a bug fix.

Rather ironic, because back in alpha, it was the opposite: it was transparent blocks that caused a strong down-current.

Dude, you’re like a Minecraft wizard..! I use almost all of ur farm designs in my kamicraft videos btw.

Players swimming up waterfalls, items floating up waterfalls. Minecraft is silly. Thanks for sharing

I think this is due to how the player goes up in water faster if there are no solid blocks next to it

I have a problem with the bacon when I use the cracking speed. Do not give me the speed.

So just clarify, what behavior wins in the case where there are transparent blocks on one edge and redstone conductive blocks on another edge of flowing water? suppose you had a one-wide "chimney" with cobble on two sides and glass on two sides and water flowing down the center. Does the floating behavior consistently win?

This can't be intended (and is therefore a bug) because it doesn't make sense. If the water is flowing downwards, so too should the entities.

As a side note, I'm still annoyed about the water through non-solid blocks back down but anyway, thanks for the video.

Do items float up against water blocks with a magma block below causing the downward stream?

More like Bug of the Every Few Weeks HAHAHAH

then in custom pools which have only a water source at the top (often in survival if its a big area), no item would ever float up and players would be confused
