This is one of my biggest considerations, I’m in the airline industry and if the shtf happens when I’m on the road 2, 000 miles from home with no real help, and very limited resources . I Carry a good amount of get home gear, but the tsa greatly limits certain important tools . Thanks for covering this .

Never really thought about this scenario much. All of my family is dead, I have very few friends and I'm single. I have enough beer, cigarettes and ammo in my truck to last about a week. After that it's to Valhalla! One good thing is I'm not afraid to die!

I expect to utilise my skills, experience, determination and connections and go to any lengths in order to rescue said loved one. Without a doubt, copious amounts of violence and mayhem will ensue. Expect to be fueled either by Unstoppable Rage or Tranquil Fury. My drive to save their loved one will almost necessarily make me a Determinator. I will make stupid decisions, have no plans, miraculously acquire knowledge and fitness, learn on the fly, and lead others into danger. Good topic, which doesn't get enough attention. We all have loved ones who aren't preppers: siblings, parents, kids, significant others, none of whom are familiar with all of the prepper stuff we obsess with and plans in our heads. They might have a vague notion of "Ted has some emergency preparation stuff" but not much beyond that. It's important to have some key points of planning that everyone is familiar with in case of a major disaster or short term high intensity disruption of some kind. Something as simple as: "If there is a serious emergency, blackout, riots, fires, earthquake, we all meet at Ted's place. If it's something serious and getting worse and you can't make it to Ted's within 3 days, or if you get there and nobody is there, the secondary location is Grandma's farm."

This ensures that if coms are down and panic is in the streets, your untrained and unprepared relatives and friends aren't swept up in that panic, they have a basic directive of what to do. Everyone knows to meet at a primary safe location, people know not to run out like headless chickens to look for others and place themselves in danger, but to stay put, since everyone is coming. But also, a secondary location ensures that if the first place is compromised, people aren't staying in danger just to wait for the others. If you can pre-program cheap Baofeng Hams for key members and have instructions on basic use, you're more than set on early disaster response with a family/friends who aren't preppers. (Also, thanks for fixing your camera)

I ordered a 5 galon water cooler by coleman. With a lil faucet. That is for my blackout plan and i will cut the water to the house immediately move into rationing bathtub water. Im converting into a permanent home blackout at night. Cant risk a flooding issue in these scenarios. Cant risk a fecal incodent mold disasters. Risk mitigation immediately.
