Pulmonary Edema Chest X-ray

Today, we'll be discussing pulmonary edema as seen on a chest x ray and all the differentials you should be thinking about when seeing this type of x-ray.

When there is pulmonary edema on chest x-ray it's usually from a disruption in Starling Forces. Now, I won't get into too much detail. But, essentially there is too much pressure in the pulmonary arteries, causing a disruption in osmotic pressure, pushing fluid and proteins out into the alveolar space, leading to hypoxemia and shortness of breath.

There are two causes of pulmonary edema:
- Cardiogenic
- Non-cardiogenic

I don’t know if you get this a lot but you kind of look like Scarlet Johansson.

I went out with a friend, who told me that my arms was swollen at first I thought it was fat, but as time went on I realized that the swollen face wasn't the only symptoms I saw. The ankles feet and legs got swollen. But with the help of Dr Iyhere everything went well.

I am James Osborn a 69 year old man, who was diagnosed with Edema although I have heard people speak of it. I never imagined that at this age it would be involved in my case. I met Dr Iyhere online on youtube, through the help of my son. After I took his drugs I have been relieved.

I think I need to go to a doctor. I have randomly been getting fluid in my left lung for the past 6 months. Making my chest tight and hard to breathe but it eventually goes away after a few day to a week. I keep putting it off because it goes away.

My mum has had x-rays due to a year long cough and an enlarged heart. But nothing shows on the x-ray. She has edema on her legs and ankle but the doctors say her lungs are fine according to the x-rays. Is it possible to have a clear/good xray but still have pulmonary edema?

My chest was hurting, and a sudden change in tiredness and breathing (I've had very high bp for many years and an on meds), so I went to my cardiologist because the suddeness of it was a little scary. She xray'd my chest and I have fluid in my lungs. She prescribed a loop diuretic and I am getting an ultrasound next week. Im only 48 and am concerned because it seems heart failure is the cause for pulmonary edema. My question is can it be caused by something thats not heart failure but some milder issue with the heart? I'm getting worried.

Second chest film had poor inspiratory effort. Film should have been repeated.
