100%. Pastor MacArthur presents Jesus Christ's message accurately, consistently. I thank Christ for men like him. We need mercy, grace and repentance. I sin and need grace and mercy in great measure. Luckily, Christ IS sufficient, no matter the sin. Justice sends everyone to hell. Couldn't agree more.

It is not just the believing part. Yes, there are plenty of people who believe that are not born of God. Scripture says that even the demons believe but you must be born again. If you want to go to heaven FIRST you must acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ and surrender your life to him. That means that you are giving up your own ability to rule your life. You repent of your sins and give lordship of your life to Christ Jesus. To the truly sincere person God then imparts a new spirit. You must be “born again” to go to heaven. You cannot enter into heaven without that new born from above spirit. God also imparts the Holy Spirit at that time. There should be evidence of a change within you when that happens. Desires should change. Your activities should change.
After that your spirit is born again but your soul (mind will and emotions) is not. That is the part of you that must be renewed with the word of God. When we are born again it is just the beginning of a new life in Christ. You must feed your spirit and your soul in order to continue to grow in the spirit. That new spirit needs to be fed as well so that the believer grows up spiritually.

God is a just God and cannot let things go unpunished. So Jesus took our punishment for us, so the justice is fulfilled and God can give us mercy and grace. Once we receive by faith (faith is not believing only. Faith is making a commitment to obey God) then our debt is forgiven and we become children of God. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the necessary and essential works come AFTER salvation
