All Religions Are Paths to God? - Orthodox Response to Pope Francis, Trent Horn & Taylor Marshall

Fr. Peter Heers and Constantine Zalalas discuss the recent public statements by Pope Francis.

"All religions are paths to reach God. They are—to make a comparison—like different languages, different dialects, to get there. But God is God for everyone. If you start to fight saying 'my religion is more important than yours, mine is true and yours isn't', where will this lead us? There is only one God, and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sheik, Muslim, Hindu, Christians; they are different ways to God."
- Pope Francis, September 13th, 2024

If only Fr. Seraphim Rose was still here today to respond to the Popes blasphemy. He wrote a book in 1975 saying this would happen.

The Lord himself gave us very few hints how to know where His church is: He promised to never leave His church (therefore it must be a historical one). And: by their fruits you shall know them (matthew 7:20). After comparing over a year the life of "saints" from different denominations the most Christ-like and spiritual saints I found within the Orthodox church. Just to look at the contemporary saints one will easily recognize that the Orthodox Church is still very very active and fruitful in producing great saints, holy ascetics and theologians. If someone really wants to become holy and struggle with his whole being for that, he will choose the best way to holiness. Its so obvious. Also one of the reason why the former famous Roman catholic theologian and hermit Gabriel Bunge converted to Orthodox Church. He said the most spiritual person he met in Orthodox Church was dimensions (!) above the most spiritual person he ever met within the Roman Catholic church.

John Henry Newman (1801-1890) observed that “to be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant”, and so, he left Anglicanism and embraced Roman Catholicism… Yet, it must be emphasized that to be even deeper in history is to cease to be Roman Catholic. The Church began in the Holy Land of the Bible, in the East. All are invited to embrace Orthodox Christianity, which as Saint Athanasius of Alexandria (373) observed, is “what Christ taught, the Apostles preached, and the Holy Fathers kept”, with great care and devotion, even to this very day. Investigate, study, visit an Orthodox Church or Monastery, talk with a priest, deacon, or monk, and then begin to embrace the Orthodox Christian Faith with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul… Your only regret may be that you waited so long to do so…

Catholic Apologetics 101:
1. The pope didn't actually say that.
2. If he did, it doesn't change anything.
3. If it does, it's not important.
4. If it is, it's not the Pope's fault.

This video and subject pairs very well with Fr. Seraphim Rose’s “Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future.”

PostModernism with its polyvalence is an anathema for Christians. The Pope through his speeches and praxis ( remember Pachamama rituals in churches of Rome ) has embraced postmodernism whilst pushing the New Testament aside. If we live the words of the Holy Bible, through God’s Grace, we have a duty to share those Holy words in our evangelism instead of speaking off the cuff with postmodern “please all” pluralism. May our Lord protect the God- fearing Roman Catholic flock from such shepherds and have mercy on us all.

It would be so great to have Dr. Taylor Marshal on with Fr. Peter. I'm an Orthodox fan of both men.

I am Catholic. I am distraught at the heresy of Francis. Where do I go? How can I turn to the Orthodox Church if they join with Francis.

It's interesting how much of the time Protestants and Catholics argue a lot about their respective faiths but this time.. . we're united in our common beliefs about Christianity....

Pope Francis needs our prayers..
The United States needs our prayers as well as the world...

Hasn’t Roman Catholicism been outside the Body of Christ ever since they exchanged the Holy Spirit as the authority over Truth and error with an Individual, The Pope? And, won’t Pope Francis’ controversies just become accepted overtime just as every Roman Catholic heresy, many arguably historically worse, as their is no earthy authority over him that can challenge, rebuke or remove him from the Throne of St. Peter or his Position as Vicar of Christ?

2:27:26 I’ve actually heard some people with online testimonies say that attending an Orthodox wedding is what brought them into Orthodoxy.
