With the weight puzzle you can stand on the platform and so save time not needing the latter. You just get to ride up and down, or until you mess it up like me and then back to the latter. You can also stand on the lower box that takes the wheel, pull the lever that ends it, and skip the parkour.

Thanks so much! Turns out i broke the first cogwheel puzzle doing it an unintended way without knowing. So when i got to the 2nd puzzle it was impossible to replicate what i thought the game had taught me.
Method i used: Use every crate to jump up the large boxes on the floor to the ladder and bring the cog with me by placing it on the the crates and floor as i go. Then next to the ladder place 2 crates on the wooden hand rail on the left for extra height. Jump onto the wooden handrail and place the cog on top of the double stacked crates. Go up the ladder and crotch to grab the cog off the double stacked crates.
