The thing is that these majors might pay you well with less time spending than others like engineering and science degrees, but companies expect something more than solely the degree from you after graduation. It could be your sense of work, talent, previous work experiences, extra certificates such as foreign language proficiencies, etc meanwhile doctors gain licenses and engineers are somewhat proven to be useful almost right after graduation. In the end, the amount of time that takes for your effort to reach success evens out, which is fair enough.

I’m a finance major and the path I’m taking with it can lead to $100k-$150k starting out(salary + bonus) but it involves lots of internships and networking with professors and people in the industry.

You don’t understand how much your vids help. I’m 21 and having a mid life crisis😫. I quit college to work a few years ago but now I’m back at college and I’m so stressed out because I’m not entirely sure what I want to do but your videos on what degrees to do etc are putting me at ease a little so thank you so much !

International business with a minor in Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Hindi, or French is a solid career choice. You have a lot of access to developing markets and that cultural insight is a solid set of skills to present to a ton of employers!

Every degree is a different beast, it all depends on how badly you want it and how well-organized/squared away you are in your personal life to put your education at the forefront of your list of priorities.

While studying Finance & Accounting in college I would have to say the economics classes were harder than the accounting classes in my opinion.

I can vouch for commerce/business majors partying hard, and just even skipping class a lot of the time. I was forced to study it although I'm unfortunately not a numbers person at all, so struggled through it whilst observing how easy it was for my cohorts to breeze right through. Have been in this field for a decade now - all I can say is yes the jobs certainly are high-paying, particular if in actuarial/investment banking/consultancy, and not too bad even on an average level. However, with the hours required for a lot of these jobs, you'd get more per hour working part-time at a restaurant even. Ask yourself if it's worth it, because unless you're 'passionate' about it, it'll drain you. Overall, very soul-less, competitive, and often depends more on your networking and how well you present yourself...but then again, most industries operate that way to an extent

Go community college for the first two years you’ll save a LOT of money. That’s if finances are a major worry

The closer in proximity a major is to money, those majors would automatically have the highest return to effort ratio. Yeah doctors and engineers can make hella money but they're about one step away from money. Majors dealing directly with money, IE accounting, finance, economics, supply chain, marketing, will get the biggest bang for their buck. If you aren't immensely passionate about what you want to do with your career, just study a business major and call it a day.

These degrees are easy yes, however I would advise to also while in college work an entry level part time job in the major you are pursuing. That way by the time you graduate you have 4 years of experience.

I've always been better at the subjects most people find difficult. For example I'm in a finance program at my university, and having a little difficulty understanding all the concepts of this management class I'm taking, but the business calculus class that everyone has to take is complained about extensively, and I earned a 99% in that class. I feel like I may have picked the wrong major, but I'm super interested in investments, real estate, and financial planning.

I am graduating in IT and I currently have a job offer for 75k and what he said about skills is really true. I was working in IT related jobs and got an internship and that has helped me along with my degree. My school did make me take calc 1 and differential equations though and a lot of programming .. TAKE ALL THE PROGRAMMING CLASSES YOU CAN TAKE.

Here's what a Bachelor in Economics and Management looks like in my country (in Europe):
- 20-25 hours of classes a week
- usually 10 to 25 hours on homework, projects, and class preparations (If you're actually working on the projects, not letting other people in your group do the work, and doing your readings you'll have at least 20 hours a week)
- participation in university associations where you get some experience in sales, management, finance, etc.
- often people do some charity too
- SO many applications for internships + usually at least part of your vacations are dedicated to interning
- knowing 3 languages fluently is quite average so people often start learning an extra language or two
- attending seminars
- bonus course or project out of uni for some practical skills

IT graduate here. You really need hands on experience above all else nowadays. A company will pick a person who has no degree but 3 years experience over a person with a degree and 0 yrs experience. Certs will help. Also the IT and tech field is so vast its hard to pinpoint what you want to do.
