Learn Back Hop Turns and troubleshoot your bike trial technique as we run through both the basics of the move as well as some things you might be struggling with. A massive thank you to Teracis for the assist with the footage for the troubleshooting segment of the video!

As promised, these are the two tutorials for the trials techniques I mentioned in this video:

I know which foot is the strong one by the way, I know that guy in the video!
Thanks so much for all the tutorials, tips and help. All of that progress wouldn't have happened without it.

Just a update. I'm getting so much better at back hops and even started pedal kicking forward and back. And now I'm able to turn side to side! Thanks so much for the tutorial. Looking forward to progress more!

I just learnt how to hop on the back wheel a few month ago. So, turning around is still a long way to go but your last tip seems promising. Thanks, I'll try that.

Your work is great. I am in the first place a mtber but I love to do some trial whenever I have a short free moment. It would be great to see a comparision of various techniques done with a trialbike and a full suspension mtb (limits to what is possible, learning curve, ...). Some of the best mtbers with great style all have a trial background (Chriss Akrigg, Danny MacAskill, Tony Bou and some others). Lately they have been taken up emtb and it is awesome. Grtz, Alain

Hi, my strong side is my front foot video and I'm practicing my bad side and I can hop this side but it's much harder but time will make this easier, the funny thing is that I'm very good on my strong side and with one pedal kick I can spin almost 180 degrees😂

How much distance on the flat ground back wheel pedal gap/hop can cover, it's difficult to push further than wheelbase. Can you please provide technique to increase the length of the hop.

Also. I am not clear on the handle bar rotation. Is it meant to be quick aggressive turns in the direction of the rotation. And quick back? Or quick pre turns/preload by turning in the opposite direction then go full swing in the direction of turn?
