The thing about separates as well is that it’s easier to wash a shirt than a full dress esp when travelling. I love dresses except for travel.

Jumping in to say, if the indoor sporting event is hockey dress for the cold - in spite of being inside! Last time I saw the Canucks - I wore a heat-tech top under my Canucks tee, with a thick scarf, puffy coat, and a hat.

If you don't have florals it's easy to find flower accessories for your hair, which could also repurpose as a choker or wear on your wrist if that's more your style.
