Ciao everyone! In today's Shop Your Closet series I challenged my slow fashion closet to recreate the iconic and classic styles of Jackie O and Sofia Loren. While I think it's impossible to compare to these two incredible women, it was fun recreating these looks! But what do you think? Were they a hit or a miss?

Enjoyed your style icon recreations. Even though Sophia Loren is difficult for most people to be able to exude her earthy and sexy vibe your interpretation of her outfit was spot on. You nailed it for Jackie O, too. The only person (similar to Sophia Loren) I can think of that has a natural earthy and sexy persona is Jessica Simpson. Again, great job!!!

Love both of the looks, but more than that - I love how you can come up with a gorgeous look by not necessarily replicating (leading to more purchases of specific exact things), but by talking us through what makes a look, "a look". Especially since deviating a bit (as you suggested, swapping out the placement of light and dark) is the way to make a certain look universal to any body type. Love your analysis - it's definitely the key. Hope you're enjoying your vacay!

I that you chose old photos of classic stylish women. The women of that time period is why I started to wear more skirts and dresses. They looked so effortless and comfortable but pretty all at the same time. I liked both looks. One thing I liked about the shorts outfit is it looked pulled together. Many times I see folks in shorts and look disheveled or like they should be on the beach only. This was nice enough to go out to lunch, beach, pool, etc. You get the idea. I totally enjoyed both of them.

Both a hit- regardless of the replication; the inspiration, the use of garments you already own to create looks you perhaps wouldn’t have without that inspiration, the confidence in which it is worn at the end of the creation, the sophistication throughout means a miss is not possible in my opinion.
