It's like 3 and a half minutes of that music and I would choose the plague over listening to that music ever again.

This was one of my daughters favourite shows when she was little. Most of it went over her head but she liked seeing other kids her age doing things.

Pretty interesting documentary. There's so many about Roman Britain but very few out there about the Saxon period.

I enjoyed this. I appreciate that they will say when they don’t know something.

The fire pits shown had no chimneys or flues. The smoke filtered out through the roof thatch— or didn’t. The houses must have been constantly full of smoke. The people consequently had many lung ailments, especially those who had to work with the fires, such as cooks (probably mainly women) and smiths.

This program is almost 30 years old.
A lot of what's been told here is no longer the case.
We have a pretty decent knowledge on how houses were built, what people ate (which was absolutely NOT tasteless) and what they wore.
That guy in his "mideaval" outfit is full of fantasy. Common people didn't have the fibulae to keep their cloak on.
They didn't walk around with a cloak all day, like we don't wear our coats al day.
And not only women wore something on their heads. Man had a white cap on. All of them as they were mandatory.
And they most certainly didn't have a haircut like this guy has.

The music in this is awesome and I don't know what everyone is complaining about lol. That said, it's woefully anachronistic. This is Renaissance era music from places like Flanders and Lombardy. Most of the instruments being used were not common until at least the 1400's or even the 1500's. Anglo-Saxon Britain more or less vanished after the Norman Conquest of 1066. So we're talking half a millennium in between when these people lived and when this music was popular at royal courts.

Children from 1995 eh? Can you imagine children from 2023? Separated from devices for a whole day and asked to perform manual labour instead? I’m laughing 😆. I wonder if the village is still going.

wet feet? well maybe, did these researchers not find out about greasing the leather? soak it in warm melted fat / grease, let it soak in well. add more later, cooled off. Then buff it. helps to waterproof it. use very thick pressed leather for soles, several layers.
