The Eisenhower Matrix | How to Prioritise Your Tasks Effectively

This matrix is a powerful productivity tool, also known as the urgency importance matrix, that helps you categorise tasks based on their urgency and importance.

STEP 1: List your tasks
Start by listing all the tasks you need to complete.

STEP 2: Determine urgency
Assess each task and how urgent it may be. Ask yourself 'Does this tasks require immediate attention?'

STEP 3: Assess importance
Determine each tasks importance. Ask yourself 'Is this task crucial for achieving my goals?'

STEP 4: Categorise tasks
- Quadrant 1: DO first (Urgent and important)
- Quadrant 2: Schedule (Important but not urgent)
- Quadrant 3: Delegate (Urgent but not important)
- Quadrant 4: Eliminate (Not urgent and not important)

STEP 5: Take action
Start with tasks in quadrant, completing them as soon as possible.
Schedule time to work on tasks in quadrant 2, so they don't become urgent
Delegate tasks in quadrant 3 to appropriate team members
Consider eliminating or minimising tasks in quadrant 4.

STEP 6: Regular review
Update your matrix as new tasks arrive and prioritise change. This will help you focus on the most important tasks and help you stay organised.
