London's Deserted Railway Termini: Part 1

On the third anniversary of the Nationwide "Lockdown" introduced on March 23rd 2020, I have put together the video footage I filmed on my bicycle ride around the deserted streets of London, whilst visiting all of the railway termini as listed in John Betjeman's book "London's Historic Railway Stations". The lockdown afforded a rare and unique opportunity - especially during such glorious spring weather - to view and appreciate the architecture of London's railway stations in a way which the usually unrelenting masses of people interfere with. I hope you enjoy this meditative look at some of these impressive stations, imbued with a stillness not frequently encountered.

In Part 1 of this video I visit: Marylebone, Paddington, Victoria, Waterloo and Charring Cross.

That was absolutely brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed this update.
Although London born and bred I would not want to live there again. Mind you I am talking about the 50's and 60's.

This was a very difficult video for me to watch. Although I still have some photos of an even more deserted Paddington which I took during a rail strike several decades ago, all of these stations I used to travel through regularly. Victoria was one I used to commute through daily for many years. Seeing them all with trains running but almost no passengers and knowing how the Government is now forcing train companies - including Southern - to withdraw trains as a long-term consequence, gives me the sad feeling that the hustle and bustle will never return to the extent to which I once knew so well.
