What I find fascinating about all of this. Humanity goes through patterns - first we see it with the naked eye, then we invent technology to see it better and better. Then we develop technology to put men there. Earth's Moon is a perfect example, so too Mars and the planets in our solar system.

Clarification please. So information we get now from planets in far galaxies isn't real time correct? because what we may see now is what happened thousands of years ago and that stars light is just reaching us now? right? so the interstellar explosions we saw a couple years back occurred eons ago?

You state how Keppler found "water worlds" and "wind-swept planets". These are just current assumptions, which you should have pointed out. None of these planets has yet been imaged. And certainly, no weather dynamics on them can be detected as of yet.

I wonder if they can build a huge advanced industrial telescope and mount on an automated spaceship/rocket with lots of fuel and make it go to the edge of the solar system and take pictures from there? Or it can take pictures as it travels along through space too. NASA setup a deep space network, so I guess it would be possible? I just don't see what's so fun in orbiting Earth...
