In the fiery beginnings of our young solar system, worlds are born and obliterated. Gas giants stir chaos. And a young sun vents its rage. How did Earth survive against all odds? This eye-opening 4K documentary tracks the perilous path our planet took in its early years through advanced, data-driven, cinema-quality CGI. It explores some of the greatest questions in science today: How did Earth become a living planet? What does its history tell us about our chances of finding other worlds that are truly Earth-like?

One of the best space docs I've seen in a minute. Life long astronomer who worked in spaceflight and public science communicator.
Highly recommend. Great modern information and is easy to digest.

Oh my god, it's like watching an action movie in Hollywood! From the beginning, the video already has dramatic background music, Earth has definitely gone through an intense adventure! Who would have thought that one day we would sit here and review the 'legendary life' of our planet.

Two hundred years before, this kind of information presented in an incredible visual illustration was not even imaginable... I wonder what we will be missing in another two hundred years from now...

I miss Dick Rodstine the original voice narrator. But he retired, his voice was like soft liquid gold. Love to fall asleep with his narration

i really enjoyed the visuals and the depth of information in this video, it's clear a lot of effort went into it. but i can't help but wonder if we really understand the full scope of how life could've begun given the harsh conditions of early Earth. some people believe that life could've started in much more extreme environments than we typically consider, which raises questions about our models of planetary formation. what do u all think?

Grear documentary! I really enjoyed it.
After watching, I would say that life in the Universe is most likely extremely rare and Earth like planets also. If we are literally made from debris, dust and chemical processes, I can't imagine anything else but being an exotic species. We don't know if there is any kind of being outside of Earth and it could easily happen that we never find it. And thinking about being alone in the Universe or at least few light years around is absolutely terrifying. If we ever detect life outside Earth, it will completely change our perspective on everything.

Very well done. Should have included a word about plate tectonics, though. That’s another feature that the other rocky planets lack, and it seems to play an important role in, as well.

What’s always been crazy to me is a lot of the events the earth needed to allow complex life are the same events that if/when repeated would wipe us out unless we developed some super technology to stop it.

A lot of work and state of scientific understanding went into this excellent production. The one criticism I have is at no time is there any acknowledgement of any sense of mystery of all the coincidences that had to occur to make it all possible. Something that even Einstein understood: "Coincidences are god's way of remaining anonymous".

Thank you so much for creating and posting this video. What a blessing. Especially enjoyed the part about how life began in the oceans. Well done, indeed.
