RCA here. Been at it for almost seven months. Pay is ok, fellow carriers are great. Management can be iffy. Learning a route can be stressful, but once you got it. It's fine. Cons; they're desperate for people and this work life balance thing really depends on the station. So many routes are also under evaluated, like a route I bid on that I wasn't technically supposed to be able to get. It was rated as an aux route at 4.7hr a day. I was out there for almost 12 hours on my first Monday as it gets ridiculous amounts of parcels. 3 Hampers full. Most of which have to go to the door. Oh and I was being pressured to get a bigger vehicle to be able to service the route. I noped out of there and since I wasn't supposed to be able to bid on any route with out a year of continuous service. The union and management let off it. Unfortunately that means I am now an unassigned RCA and just gets called as needed. With no guaranteed day.

$23?? They offered my $20.38. WTF. And on top of that i hear alot of RCA and CCA Are quitting. Management is the one to blame and union on top of that. They got you working 7 days a week 10-12 hrs a day. This video is very misleading. It shows that USPS is desperate to get people.

I worked as an arc for about seven months and I will say that when you get to your station, it’s different than how they train you at the Academy. The academy is wonderful. I loved my experience there, but when I got to my station, they trained me on a route that I wasn’t even going to be doing. basically they throw you in there and just expect you to do it flawlessly and fast. It’s like being thrown into a pool and not knowing how to swim. Eventually, after getting used to it, I did find my groove and I was doing good. I found it to be rewarding. I liked the independence of being on the road. However, I was working in a toxic work environment with a very toxic postmaster and I ended up leaving right during the busy season, about mid December. I left on good terms, however.

I have been considering going to work for a different station in a different role, as ARC really doesn’t pay at all and it doesn’t really get you to any other role. I get paid more just doing Instacart as a full-service shopper

Once you become a full time regular. You can stand around doing NOTHING if you have a job in a mail facility . There is absolutely no accountability whatsoever. Management is totally unqualified and would not be a boss anywhere else in America.

Another con, you are expected to work holidays and you do not get holiday pay

I just got hired on in KS as an RCA and i didn’t get $23 an hour. I got around $20. Why is that different than your experience?
