Why is this Region Called 'Latin' America? #shorts

Why is this region called ‘Latin’ America? It’s obviously because they speak Latin languages, right? Well, yes, but that doesn’t tell the full story, nor does it explain why very different peoples are categorized together. The origins of the name go back to the 19th century, thanks to Latin American intellectuals, European writers, and, especially, French Emperor Napoleon III.
