OMG! I just thought...
What if a Horde of Trolls starts a symbiotic relationship with an Hydra?
Now hear me out...

Trolls can regenerate and mutate depending on what they eat...
That means no matter how many times the hydra eats, as long as they aren't entirely eaten they will survive.

So The Horde can send trolls to test their skills by fighting the hydra and the number heads a troll is able to bring back would equate to their status in the horde.

And each time a troll brings Hydras Heads they would feast on it.

This would lead to a mutant Hydra-Troll with even crazier regeneration and even crazier mutations.

My GOD... no... not even the Gods are safe now

Do the robe of useful items! One of my faves. Found your Chanel like a week ago and watched all the shorts in 1 go. Loving these, reminding me why I started playing dnd, brilliant!

A great monster with a great gimmick

Edit: I had an idea for a hydra homebrew, called Ancient Hydra, that survived many battles and grew too many heads to be able to cut off all of them, so I was gonna change it's weakness to fire for something else and give it stuff like a poison breath

My party once had to fight an insanely intelligent hydra, it would bite off its own heads to grow more, and become more powerful, so yeah i made my party fight a hundred headed hydra. Im a great DM

My friend made a campaign and the first boss was a hydra. I was a dwarf and I had an amazing Warhammer. I ended up one hitting it and he was devastated.

Had the idea of a hydra that rips off its own heads to keep multiplying them so it never dies.

I remember when my party of six, level five adventurers, killed a Hydra in one turn before it could react. (I run a "Heroic" setting, so they get better stats, gear, etc.)

I then told them to go one more round, and if they could double that damage, the gods would be impressed and either give them a boon or a powerful artifact.

They killed the Hydra thrice over, and proceeded to take their rewards.

My favourite monster is the hydragoose (homebrew) an abomination that inspires fear in every sentient being

Wait, so couldn’t a hydra just eat one of it’s extra heads any time it gets hungry? If more heads always grow in its place then I don’t see why not unless it takes a bunch of energy to grow a head back.

Actually the way to kill a hydra is to chop off each head one at a time and cauterize the neck stump so nothing grows

Hey, great work making the series! You are really informative quickly! There is one monster I REALLY would like to know more about though: Ice Devils!
