Witnessed an incredible drum solo from him with Paice Ashton Lord in the late 70’s. The band had to plead with the audience to stop screaming, so they could get on with the show. Tony Ashton - “Shut the *uck up and sit down!”
Saw Ian in his 5 day residency (2 shows per day) with The Buddy Rich Big Band at Ronnie Scott’s Club 5 years ago . None of the drummers mentioned could have pulled that gig off. He was magnificent. Ian Paice.

Jon Bonham was off the charts. He was such a powerful drummer. When Speaking to young drummers these days, I always hear "Jon Bonham was my inspiration " or Jon Bonham is why I play the drums, ". Never forgotten. Makes me happy to hear such a talented gifted drummer was their inspiration!
