The explosion alone is already great but if you watch it with the build-up to it it gets even more epic.

The moment I heard that first "I say cry!" I was instantly won over by yet another Hiroyuki Sawano soundtrack XD Gorgeous gorgeous music.

this was probably the most expensive scene in the entire anime plus the most Epic decent of any space driven vehicle in a mecha anime Ever.

Aldnoah is seriously an under appreciated series. The first season was fantastic, and granted the second season did drop off near the end, it was still overall a great story!

Aside from the great music it is really cool that they actually understand how shockwaves and blast waves work. 99% of media ignore the negative pressure phase.

There was also a scene beforehand where some kids somewhere seen "shooting stars" and they wished about world peace.. But those "shooting stars" was those space castles dropping among the world...

This was honest to god the best way to end an episode. The intense track was a great compliment to the accompanying explosive scene.

It's cool to see that they had to adapt the scene so that the EPICNESS of the music made it fantastic. I mean, it was right on time! When everyone on the bridge started to turn into ashes and Mika started to use her precious voice, I could only say "YES! THAT'S IT! THAT'S HOW EPICNESS SHOULD WORK!". I think that there weren't any anime that Mika, the vocal, and Sawano, the composer, didn't made an scene a lot better. The impact of her voice just made me repeat that twenty-seven seconds around uncountable times!

This was a very haunting scene when I first saw it in the anime. The music made it even more haunting.

What makes this seen so amazing is how terrifyingly accurate the event of a Nuclear blast (or in this case an orbital kinteic bombardment) is.
If your within about 20 miles, first the flash blinds you.
Then if your within 5 miles, the heat wave will inflict third degree burns and anything flammable will be set alight (within the blast zone aka about a mile, and your basically standing in the sun)
Then the shock wave hits, and anything within 1.53 miles will be practically atomised, 2.81 miles and anything will simply be tossed around like a ragdoll

Was just chatting with a friend about anime with music that's much better than the actual show itself and this scene came to mind, really appreciate being able to find the exact 30 seconds I wanted. Damn shame about the rest of the show but at least the OST slaps.
