Doctor Doing Homework (Pediatric Anesthesia)

Pediatric anesthesia requires lots of precision for pediatric surgery! Drug doses, airway equipment, and much more needs to be tailored to the child because sizes vary so much!

I have to do lots of drug calculations before the pediatric patient goes under anesthesia to make sure I know how much of each medication to give in case of an emergency, like epinephrine, succinylcholine, atropine, etc.

Here's an example of a chart I use before each case... and the homework I do ahead of time :)

At the pedi hospital I go to they print out all the emergency drugs & how much and tape it to your bed/chart.

Interesting! Can you do a short with paediatric airway equipment? Also, do you mean by homework, you have to continually study this to have this chart memorized, in the event of emergency?
