I agree with you, the Mariners definitely have a higher chance of making the playoffs at where they were projected. I think they’ll be close, but I don’t think They’ll make it this year, definitely next year though.

Being an actual fan of your team and baseball as a whole is looking wholeheartedly at your team and your opponents and analyzing as such. I love the Giants, we aren't very good. I have loved what Farhan Zaidi has done and has given the team at least some guys to root for with some solid bolstering of a weak farm system quite fast. I do not like the Dodgers but I respect the hell of out that team. They do it right. They built up players from the minors, they make smart moves and when it comes to spend money, they do it when they feel it truly will work (aka Mookie long term/Bauer short term). It's smart, it bring in superstars, it wins games.

Glad Zaidi came over and took over Sabean's weird nostalgia approach. I hope we can start competing with LA and SD in the near future but for me, just because I am a SF fan, to disparage what the Dodgers or Padres has done, makes me more of a casual fan than anything else.
