Mickey Moniak played in my Little League, Encinitas national Little League. He was the one guy whose games were always a big draw. Everyone wanted to watch him play, even before he started high school. Can't wait to see him in the majors long-term.

Fun Fact: Trevor Megill was a freshman at Orange Lutheran when Gerrit Cole was a senior. Then he went on to play college with the goat David Fletcher

These are pretty good bold predictions by Jeff Passan. That is interesting he picked Juan Soto to win the NL MVP, while I pick Mookie Betts to win the award. I'm sure a lot of fans say Dodgers are going to repeat as World Series champions and Jeff agrees with that.

my predictions: (most of these are based on what Passan said)

Fantasy players that will be solid pickups:
- Trey Mancini
- Ketel Marte
- Mike Yastrzemski
- Marcus Stroman
- Mark Canha
- Ryan Yarbrough

Gambling Hat:
AL MVP: Mike Trout (safest bet possible)
NL MVP: Ronald Acuna
NL Cy Young: Jacob DeGrom
NL Cy Young: Max Fried
AL Batting Title Champion: Tim Anderson
Houston Astros as the AL West winners
Atlanta Braves as the NL East winners
Pirates below 50 wins (they were on pace for 45 last year)
Whit Merrifield leads the MLB in Hits and At Bats
Freddie Freeman is a top 10 MVP candidate

Front-Office executive Hat:
- Lindor, Correa and Baez sign extensions
- Gallo signs to a massive deal in Free Agency
- Bryant will get traded before Free Agency
- Freeman is staying in Atlanta
- Ramirez stays in Cleveland
- Kevin Gausman signs big deal

Scouting Hat:
- Pratto will be the 1B, Soler will put the glove back on, and Santana will be the DH
- Adley Rutschman comes up and is barely average in the league in 40 games
- Moniak is a bust
- Willi Castro is the player the Tigers build around
- Duran makes the starting roster
- Franco doesnt make the starting roster unless Adames goes to DH or 3B

Fan Hat:
- Witt will be the Royals starting SS or 3B
- Ohtani pitches 25 games and doesnt hit too much, but will start every series in the NL ballparks
- DeGrom wont be the Cy Young pitcher he was in 2018 but still be great
- KeBryan Hayes will be top 15 at 3B
- Jose Iglesias will be insanely good at hitting and the fielding will continue. he had a .900+ OPS in 2019 off hitting doubles and continued some of it to Spring
- Mancini will be insanely good and i have him as an MVP candidate and possible winner
- Guerrero will be insane

Swami Hat:
- Juan Soto wont lead in any Triple Crown stats, but will do well in all 3
- Shane McClanahan wont be the reason but will be A reason why the Rays repeat 2020 as the best in the East
- Codi Heuer will be great, but not better than Hendriks
- Tyler Mahle will still be a 3rd spot pitcher by Reds choice, but will be better than Castillo and maybe Gray
- Alec Bohm wont be their best hitter, but will get 160 games in and lead in half the teams stats
- Drew Rasmussen?
- Miller will only make it cause they need him
- Nick Pivetta is shit...
- Cueto will be a 4 ERA guy but a solid pitcher still
- 6 guys will reach 200 innings; Shane Bieber, Jacob DeGrom, Max Fried, Trevor Bauer, Ian Anderson, Blake Snell

Love Johnny Cueto, as a Pirates fan. He’s part of the best moment in Pittsburgh baseball history post-Barry Bonds

I picked up Bobby Witt Jr off the waiver wire in fantasy for my bench in case he makes the team and Tyler Mahle was my 5th starting pitcher so I’m hoping my pitching will pop off this year

The ironic thing about the online gambling is that if you're a player or coach or any front office person you cannot play, but how could they know?
